The Client
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) is an Australian icon, known and loved by everyday Australians. Founded in 1928 by Reverend John Flynn, this aeromedical organisation provides a lifeline for people living and working in rural and remote Australia.
Passionate about bringing first-class health and emergency services to those living in the bush, the RFDS continues to embody the true spirit of Australia.
The Project
As an admirer and supporter of the Royal Flying Doctor Service, it was a privilege to be given the opportunity to copy edit a special coffee book detailing its incredible history.
Celebrating its 90-year anniversary, the Victorian arm of the RFDS was in the process of compiling a 20-page coffee book incorporating key historical events and a collection of beautiful images. The coffee book would be presented at a special event for donors and supporters who’ve been loyal to the RFDS for many years.
My initial task was to ensure the structure made sense, the copy flowed well and was easy to read. Once the copy neared its final stages, I checked the content for spelling, grammar and punctuation.
The Result
To be a part of such a significant project from start to finish, the icing on the cake was to receive the completed coffee book in the mail. It’s a project I’m incredibly proud of.
