The Client
Brooke Hutson is a qualified and talented photographer in Perth with a passion for pregnancy and newborn baby photography. She founded Luminance Photography to capture the intimate connection between mothers-to-be and the innocent beauty of newborn babies. In addition, Brooke offers family photography.
She’s been photographing Perth families since 2009 with personalised photography sessions and natural light outdoor photo shoots.
The Project
Brooke was looking for a copywriter for photographers. She wanted her website to be more customer focused and rank higher on Google for certain keywords. The end goal was to get more enquiries which would convert into new customers. She asked me to rewrite the content for her Home page and Newborn Photography service page.
I took the time to get to know her photography business and specific focus. It became obvious straight away that she loves what she does and builds close relationships with many of her clients. My focus was to use emotive language to appeal to her target audience of new mums.
The Result
Brooke’s input, along with her husband Michael’s feedback, made it easy for me to write copy expressing warmth, genuine interest and care for the women who are considering a photo shoot.
The first piece of copy was for a Gumtree ad and the second a complete rewrite of two pages of my wife’s photography website. What I particularly found great was:
- Claudia ‘got’ my brief on both occasions and was able to come up with two perfect pieces of copy.
- Claudia was able to run with my ideas and add her own where she saw we needed direction.
- Not only was the copy SEO friendly but Claudia passed on some great SEO tips which went beyond our original scope
- The process from receiving the first draft to the final piece of copy was quick and painless.
Since updating our Gumtree ad and website with Claudia’s new copy, we have noticed an increased number of enquiries which have been converting to new customers.
